David Bishop, MHS
Chief Executive Officer
David Bishop has worked in health care for over 26 years in a variety of leadership positions with St. Luke’s Health System and the Idaho Army National Guard. His leadership experience includes work in sub-specialty practice management, hospital service line leadership, and most recently working as Chief Operating Office St. Luke’s Boise. Notably, he was part of the St. Luke’s cardiac service line team that earned 10 straight Watson/Truven Top 50 cardiovascular hospital awards between 2008 and 2018. David received a Bachelor of Science in Health Science Studies from Boise State University and a Masters of Health Sciences – health policy emphasis, from Boise State University. David has built a reputation as a relationship-based servant leader who cares about his team and patient care staff. Outside of work, he is actively involved in providing humanitarian medical relief in Honduras through a non-profit he helped to create. He currently serves as Vice President of that organization and leads yearly medical mission trips to underserved areas of Honduras. He is also a member of the Downtown Boise Rotary Club and actively volunteers with the St. Luke’s Health Foundation.
David is married and has a son and two daughters. In his spare time he enjoys fishing, white water rafting, restoring classic cars, and spending time with his family.
