Gregory S. Feltenberger

Chief Executive Officer

Greg has more than 23 years of executive-level and administrative experience to include being a best-selling author, regional emergency management medical coordinator, and deployments to Afghanistan as a mentor to the Afghan National Army on health system development.

In 2014, Greg retired from the US Air Force after 21 years of active duty as a Lieutenant Colonel in the Medical Service Corps as Chief Operating Officer (COO) at the US Air Force Academy Hospital in Colorado Springs, Colorado. The hospital is the Air Force’s premier hospital/super clinic that provides healthcare services to 30,000 enrollees, including 4,000 cadets, and over 171,000 beneficiaries. The organization is staffed by over 1,500 personnel and more than 200 physicians across all major specialties and surgical sub-specialties including seven primary care clinics. The hospital boasts the only robotic refill pharmacy serving four regional military hospitals and the first-ever risk-based primary care clinic specifically designed for high-utilizers, patients with significant risk-scores, and other complex needs. As the COO, Greg’s responsibilities encompassed 198 personnel, 13 departments, a $210M+ budget, nine facilities encompassing over 250,000 square feet, 30,000 enrollees, primary/specialty care clinics, an ambulatory surgery center with five operating rooms, a flight medicine clinic, and a dental clinic.

Greg earned a doctorate in Health Services Research in 2012 from Old Dominion University, a Master’s in Business Administration from Kent State University in 2000, and an undergraduate degree (Summa Cum Laude) with a specialty in Biomedical Equipment Technology from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania in 1996. In addition, Greg is a Fellow of the American College of Medical Practice Executives and a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives. Also, Greg was the 2016 President of the Idaho Medical Group Management Association, a board member of the Saint Alphonsus Foundation, and a member of the board of directors for the (national/international) Medical Group Management Association.

Greg is also a best-selling author. His publications include “Benchmarking Success: The Essential Guide for Medical Practice Managers, 2nd Edition,” published in 2017, and “Benchmarking Success, The Essential Guide for Group Practices,” published in 2008.
