Clinical trials are studies that evaluate the effectiveness and safety of new medications or devices.  The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) requires vigorous efforts by the sponsor company (i.e. pharmaceutical companies, device manufacturers) and investigators, such as the physicians at Idaho Urologic Institute, to provide accurate and quality data, while practicing under the guidelines of Good Clinical Practice (GCP), to determine if an investigational medication or device should be approved for marketing.  The advancement of medicine is dependent upon clinical trials and the participation of patients who live each day with the diseases and illnesses that plague our country.
 
The following is a list of clinical trial indications that are open for patients:
                -Benign Prostatic Hypertrophy (BPH) for men
                -Overactive Bladder
                -Urge Incontinence
                -Nocturia (getting up at night to urinate)
                -Interstitial Cystitis 
                -Bladder Cancer
                -Prostate Cancer
